| Abstract | Vibration analysis was carried out to determine the visibility of the signals from the mechanical components of a recently overhauled Allison T56- A-14LFE engine. The most appropriate locations for vibration sensors were chosen after some preliminary tests. This report describes the monitoring methods, test procedures, and details of the techniques of signal analysis using the Mechanical Systems Diagnostic Analyzer. The signatures of all the gears, with the exception of the compressor extension shaft bevel gear, could be seen. Since all of the bearings were in good condition, their visibility could not be definitively established. |
