Abstract | This report details a project carried out to measure the mooring line loads on an operational full scale fish cage. The project was conducted by IMD in cooperation with Connors Brothers Aquaculture Division, of Black's Harbour, N.B. and the Huntsman Marine Science Centre. The cage was one of a group belonging to Connors Brothers and located at a site known as Charlie Cove, located in the Bay of Fundy in close proximity to the community of Back Bay, New Brunswick. Measurements were conducted over a six week period from October 7 to November 17, 1996. Samples were taken for 1200 seconds every six hours. However, data transmission and instrumentation problems reduced the total number of successful samples to 96. |
