Abstract | We present development of a waveguide spectrometer chip for high-resolution and high-throughput spectroscopy in space applications. It is based on the spatial heterodyne spectroscopy principle, uses Fourier technique for spectra retrieval, and has no moving parts. The chip is fabricated at the National Research Council of Canada in silicon-on-insulator technology. The spectrometer is being developed for operation in the near infrared spectral region to monitor water vapour in the atmosphere. |
