Abstract | The effect of clay chemistries and sources on the processing and properties of the nanocomposites made therefrom has been studied. A number of nanocomposites were prepared using different types of clay by melt processing using a Brabender plasticorder. Various analysis techniques were used to characterize the dispersion and the properties of the nanocomposites, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamical mechanical analysis (DMA). |
