Abstract | This paper focuses on quantifying fire loads and heat release rates of typical residential contents, which are important in characterizing residential fires. Information on fire loads was obtained from a survey of combustible contents in over 500 multi-family dwellings such as semi-detached houses, townhouses, and low-rise apartments.
