Abstract
An operational evaluation of the icebreaker Nathaniel B. Palmer in the Antartic winter environment was carried out in the region of the Weddell Sea in August and September, 1992. This report describes the ice and snow measurements performed by IMD, gives details on the methods, and presents the data from the trials.
