Abstract | High-velocity nickel powder particles were deposited on a steel substrate by means of cold spraying. Based on electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques, microstructure evolution of the particles during impact was studied in detail. The results show that nanometer-sized grains are formed along the interface between the particles, which is explained by dynamic recystallization. |
