Abstract | The results of fire tests on seven columns, constructed at the Tianjin Fire Research Institute and tested at the National Fire Laboratory of the Institute for Research in Construction, National Research Council of Canada are described. The tests were carried out mainly for the purpose of providing data for the verification of methods for the calculation of the fire resistance of reinforced concrete columns, made with materials commonly used in China. The columns were made with siliceous and carbonate aggregates. The study variables included column length, dimensions of cross sections and load eccentricity. |
