Abstract
An Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS) may allow rainwater through the walls, causing leaks, cracks and severely rotted studs in less than one year. This paper describes the development of a re-engineered EIFS system which circumvents these problems by implementing the rainscreen principle.
