| Abstract | Since their inauguration at the Leicester Congress on Plant Cell and Tissue Culture in 1974, Poster Demonstrations have become a widely accepted and effective method of pressing research information. The designs and quality of the presentations have improved considerably since the previous congress. Many of the posters at the Calgary Congress were designed with immense ingenuity and illustrated the results superbly. The information on the posters reflected very well the advances or lack of it which had been made since the previous congress.
The major research interests in Plant Tissue Culture based on the number of abstracts can be classified under the three broad categories of morphogenesis, genetics, and investigation related to secondary metabolites.
The present review attempts to enumerate and evaluate aspects of research presented through the posters which is judged to be new and significant. Reviews of each topic were prepared by invited individuals who have expertise in the respective category. Their names are listed under Acknowledgements. |
