| Abstract | ANEVENT is a software package developed by the Division of Mechanical Engineering, NRC, for the simulation of industrial operations. A detailed description of the overall structure of the package is given in (1). Basically, ANEVENT supports two modes of simulation: asynchronous and synchronous. In the asynchronous mode, simulated time is incremented instantaneously to the time of occurrence of the next event. The primary purpose of this mode is for gathering statistics over long periods of simulated time. The synchronous mode, in which the model time is linearly related to the actual time, is intended for a more interactive type of simulation. In this latter mode of simulation, some kind of display showing changes of system state is highly desirable. This report describes a software display system for the ANEVENT modelling package. In particular, Appendix B describes the implementation of a graphics display for an interactive computer model of the Lornex mine (2) on a PDP-11/60 computer at NRC running under RSX-11M operating system. |
