| Abstract | Cycle calculations were carried out for a series of turbofan engines suitable for a small subsonic transport at a representative cruising condition (Mach 0.7, 20,000 ft). It is shown that an increase of the bypass ratio at the expense of fan efficiency is desirable at low bypass ratios, but is much less desirable at high bypass ratios. |
