Abstract | This report covers a study of the condensation performance of a simple wood window having permanently installed outer glazing and removable inner glazing. With the window installed in the Building Services cold room, observations were made of surface and air temperatures and condensation on the inside surface of both inner and outer panes. These observations were made at different cold and warm room temperatures and warm room relative humidities. Variations were made in the tightiness of the inner glazing and the degree of venting of the space between the panes to the outside. Laboratory results are compared with those predicted from simple theory. |
