Abstract | This work was focused on the recognition and classification of two coexisting laser remelting regimes - shallow- and deep-melting - by means of comparisons involving geometric properties extracted from metallographic cross-sections, statistical characteristics of initial and remelted surface topographies, and averaged roughness profiles. The attained results enable the ability to control and improve polishing techniques by selective regime polishing. |
