Abstract
The construction industry is currently experiencing numerous types of envelope problems and premature construction material breakdown: leaking roofs, serious interstitial condensation problems, stained or etched cladding materials, effluorescence, and failed exterior finishes. This paper therefore focuses on the useful service life or performance of the building envelope.
