Résumé | A wind tunnel test campaign has been carried out to investigate the performance of seven parachute types as part of a European Space Agency programme researching potential subsonic parachutes for future Mars missions. The overall programme also includes high altitude sub-scale drop tests and low altitude, full-scale drop tests of some of the parachute designs. The results of the wind tunnel test campaign are presented and the data for the different designs of parachute are compared.. © 2015, AIAA American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
