| Résumé | The Marine Dynamic Test Facility (MDTF) is an advanced test rig designed for evaluating the dynamic performance of underwater vehicle and surface ship models in the Clearwater Towing Tank of the National Research Council (NRC) Institute for Marine Dynamics (IMD) in St. John's, Newfoundland. This document recounts the history of MDTF development from the initial concept (1986) to the start of implementation (1995) of the production test rig. It provides the background - concentrating on the development process rather than technical details - to the MDTF Implementation Project, which is described in the MDTF Project Management Report. |
