Résumé | The horizontally polarized antenna commonly used in RDF is greatly restricted in its usefulness, by the gaps which are usually found in its vertical radiation pattern. These gaps are caused by interference between the ray travelling directly from the antenna to the target and the ray reflected from the ground to the target. A typical vertical radiation pattern for such a horizontally polarized antenna is shown by the broken curve in Drawing No. RI-15-69. |
