Résumé	Subsurface imaging using the thermal wave generated by the absorption of a focused laser beam is an attractive approach for the nondestructive testing (NDT) of industrial materials and structures (see, e.g., ref [1] for a review). As this technology matures toward an industrial-floor procedure, practical considerations such as the time required to scan relatively large parts are receiving an increasing amount of attention
