| Résumé | The Ice Tank, Clear Water Tank and Offshore Engineering Basin are three of the facilities at the Institute for Marine Dynamics that employ complex data acquisition systems. The systems in use have become obsolete; the manufacturer of the systems no longer provides support for the system. Replacement parts cannot be purchased from the manufacturer either. This report documents the hardware modifications and the tests carried out to produce an alternative, interim replacement system. Eventually it is planned to totally replace the data acquisition systems with all new hardware but for now this will serve as a replacement. The testing procedures and hardware assembly documented herein was carried out between May 1, 2000 and August 25, 2000. |
