| Résumé | This report describes a series of experiments to address the motion of buoyant ellipsoids in still water. The ellipsoids were sized to represent a human head, an arm and a torso, and were constructed with densities near to the density of water and at half the water density. Drop tests and bottom release tests were performed for different attitudes of the ellipsoids and for a range of release points. Body motions were observed using an underwater video camera and positions were calculated by digital processing of the individual video frames. |
