Résumé | An unstructured Euler solver is used to compute flow past the P-3C Orion aircraft (known in Canada as the Aurora). The results of the computation are compared with the available experimental data to assess the code prediction capability. The solver is then used to compute the flow field on a 1:16 scale model with an objective to assess the sting mounting effects on the surface pressure distribution. Computations are made for the model in the free stream, in the wind tunnel without the sting and in the wind tunnel with the sting. These computations provide an assessment of the sting effects which will be used to adjust the experimental results. |
