Résumé | Laser-ultrasonics is a non-destructive and non-contact technique that can characterize many microstructural and elastic parameters of materials and is suitable for on-line applications. In this paper, cold-rolled samples of an Al-Mg alloy (AA5754) are annealed in a Gleeble thermomechanical simulator at various temperatures (275°C, 300°C, 325°C and 350°C). The recrystallization kinetics is monitored in-situ and in real time by laser-ultrasound. It is found that longitudinal velocity variations correlate well with the recrystallized fraction, as evaluated by metallography and mechanical testing on samples submitted to similar thermal cycles. |
